Excel can recognize the data type of cells and ranges, but users cannot. Addintools Assist offers the function Data Type Cell Lens. It renders and changes the background color of cells according to their data type: Text changed to green, Number to blue, Date and Time to yellow, empty cells changed to "No Filled Color". Cells that include text and are therefore totaled incorrectly will be visible at once.
